In ya'll's opinion, what are some good fuel/toolbox combos. Thought i'd see what you guys are running. I will probably pull a 5er some day, so i need one that doesn't come up over the bed rails. Pics would be cool too if you guys have some.

Thanks

Eric

Have put transferflows in 3 trucks. 2 second gens and a 3rd gen. All 3 got the 30 gallon tank/tool box combo and couldn't be happier with them

Here is the one I have. Rectangular Auxiliary Transfer Fuel Tank — 91 Gallon, Smooth Finish, Model# 71790 | Fuel Transfer + Storage Tanks | Northern Tool + Equipment I had a 110 gallon tank in my 99 but no place for tools. I like this one. If you are going to pull a 5th wheel be sure you get one that doesn't extend above the bed rails. Of course it's a little tough when you run everything down pretty low, went to Tennessee last fall and drove from home to Knoxville before filling up, took about 118 gal. for $365. 00, would be $100. 00 more now. I have to call the bank when I fill up and also have to give the wife a tranqualizer. bg

I have been running axiliary fuel tanks on my last three trucks and installed a 50 gal Transfer Flow in my 2008. The automatic transfer system is by far the best I have ever had. The extra tank gives me a total of 85 gallons.

I'm seriously thinking of getting the Transfer Flow 40 gal tool box combo before our next trip to Alaska, which won't be this year due to the high cost of diesel. Do you have enough room to store tools and some camping gear in the limited size tool box?

I have room for most of my mechanics hand tools and extra fuel filter oil and all the things I carry like that when going on long distance trips with my fifth wheel. I also stuff it with many other items. It is amazing how much you can get in it. I like the system they use for transferring fuel most of all. Always had the old mechanical type before. Made two trips to Alaska and hope to make a third one in the next two or three years. Great trip.

I've also made two trips to Alaska and hope for many more. Now if only the price of diesel would come down some.

I may have found a solution to the auxiliary fuel tank need. Costco has plastic fuel tanks on wheels called, "Flow n' Go Duramax", which is a 14. 4 gal tank with a pump and hose to gravity feed into the truck tank. The price is reduced to $69. 88. I bought two of them. They can both be stowed flat on the floor of the truck between the tool box and the 5er hitch. For $140, I can carry an extra 29 gals.

I went into a after market truck place today and ordered a transfer flow 98 gallon tank. I went in with the intention of ordering a 50 gal tool box combo but after seeing how small the tool box portion was, I knew I'd get more use out of the extra gallons. So now I can carry a total of 150 gallons of fuel

That sounds great. You may have to take out a second mortgage on your house to fill it, because it will cost you $675. #@$%!
