Ever since I read a little about them on Daniel Stern Lighting, and then tried them on my 2005 2500 with its pisspoor headlights, I started to use the Phillips Xtreme Vision bulbs on ALL my vehicles.
In short, they produce a noticeably brighter output that is still the yellowish/whitish color that I much prefer while not over drawing the oem headlight circuit.

IME, they ALSO last a LONG time which is something that cannot necesarilly be said for other higher output bulbs.

just my .02

Thanks for the advice fellas! I ordered the Phillips Xtreme Vision 9007 bulbs and installed them with new Depo housings. I'm very satisfied with the results. Actually fun to drive at night again through our deer-infested country. It's the best visibility my truck has ever had, even including when it was brand new.

As far as the Silverstar Ultras, we have those in our 2002 Nissan Pathfinder and they are great too. I think the Xtrem Visions are a bit better, but it could be the aim too.

The trucks headlights weren’t satisfactory until I corrected the aim. Very important!
I'm glad the Phillips bulbs are working out for you. I will take note of another brand that I can use if needed.

The best lights I've ever run were 100 watt aircraft landing lights. Had them on several vehicles I owned. They go WAY out there and light up the road like daylight. But you better be ready to turn them off if you see anyone because cops don't like them. Actually our sheriffs cars used to run them on their light bars and would turn them on after stopping someone. It would light up the inside of the person's car.
