Competition How Low Can You Go?

I think that my vp is going out. My FMS box keeps say ins time out. Its not all the time but one a day. I was told that the vp might be going out. Who offers the best hot rod pumpindustrial injextion or schied diesel or others. Im looking a all out power. I havent had anyone other signs yet. My check engine light havent came on yet. I might not even need one. I have any auto trans.

I would check with Scheid Diesel, I've read that they may dyno test their hotrod pumps.

may be an urban legend, but I would check it out

If I were you I would (if you haven't) call Chip at Blue Chip and talk to him about the "time out" I don't beleive that it is an indicator of a dieing VP as I had it ALL the time and didn't have a bad vp.

On the other hand if you just need an excuse to get a bump in hp then by all means your poor vp is deing a slow death..... lol :)

Good Luck

According to their website, they have numbers from a dyno test on a 2002 truck; gained ~100 hp over stock.

yep, i happen to be friends with the guy that owned the test mule. Very impressive gains. Works very well with modifie trucks too. Thier are at least 3 min in my county and all havehad great results. But like craig said be sure before you make the expensive jump

Whats the story on Blue Chips Fed Ex computerd VP-44?

suppose to have better electronics to handle the heat dwell

Talked to other Bosch rebuilders and no one else has the spec

do a search about hrvp's

i believe it was Brett (sorry if i'm wrong) from Industrial Injection who posted a great post about exactly how they manufacture their hrvp's it was really informative ...

when mine goes bad i'll buy from them, first because of the upgrades discribed in his post and second because if he'll take the time to give that type of in depth answer to a web site question just imagine how much help he'll give you if buy his product

2broke 2smoke, I have been looking for the post which you are refereing to . We have a tread going on the eng drivetrain forum, and this post would be a big help.

If you could remember any more hints which would help us find it I would appreciate it.

Replaced my VP with a Blue Chip "FedEx" unit. At 70,000 miles and counting there have been no issues. Of course, I expect it to last longer than the original pump which went 400,000 miles!

400,000 miles :--)

My original VP took a dump on me a few months ago. I talked to several vendors, including BRC out of KY who deals with several Scheid pumps. According to the info I received, Scheid completes all 20+ updates on every VP rebuilt. I bought one of Scheid's HRVPs. The difference is night and day. People have said that a fueling box isn't much good on top of the HRVP. The truck idles like a HEAVILY cammed gasser, and fuels the same way. My TST Comp now fuels the truck so hard that I can't use it on the street above 3 (at the max). Anything above that is insane.

One last thing to consider... . There are VP applications out there other than the ETC and ETH Dodge. Most places say that they use the high volume section from the ETC and the high pressure section from the ETH. If one was to take the biggest cam, highest pressure part, etc from other applications the VP could be a relatively mean pump. ;)
