My new W350SRW needs tires bad!! what yall' recomend? I need good mud grip cause when it rains it pores!! and I am a heavy equiptment operator so I'm in the dirt. Looking at some Remington Mud Brutes Good year MT/R's and some dunlop Mud Rovers.

I've had good luck with BFG MT's. Good road manners, good offroad manners. I ran some Goodyear MTRs, not very long-they were borrowed. I don't think they were any better offroad. They were more noisy onroad. IMHO.

A good friend of mine does alot of field tiling. They used a lot of Kuhmo mud tires. I got them to run a set of BFG MT's. Their comments were the kuhmos don't clean out, the BFGs do. All their trucks run BFG's now.

Another good tire I think is the Super Swamper Truxxus MT. It comes in load range "E" ratings. It is a little softer rubber compound then the BFG so I don't think they will wear as well, but with the proven TSL pattern they probably dig well.

I ran BFG M/T's for about 8 years... I found them to be very good in the bush/mud/snow but frankly, I didn't like them much at all when it came to paved road qualities... .

They didn't stop well and that is not good when you try to stop one of these old girls since they never had good brakes to begin with... also, I found they were "nail/screw/cut magnets too... they seemed to be constantly looking for something to grab hold and make holes...

I didn't have any excessive noise issue's or balance problems that can be common on these type of tires.

I also made sure that I didn't go bigger than 285/57R/16's... . They are so close to 33" tires that the difference isn't worth discussing and they still fit undere the front fenders even with the 'front sag' that these 1st gen's end up getting. .

bob... .

I love my Cooper S/T's , they are pretty aggressive and they wear decent too. I am on my second set, the first set lasted 35-40,000 mi.

There's a few pics of them on the truck in my readers rig gallery

take a look at toyo's either the m55's or the mt's. . they are a little expensive but they are made really well and strong...

will 285's be any good when I'm towing? and what pressure you running in them?

Frank

FWIW I run the 305's and tow heavy. The front tires I always run at 45 psi, and the rears I pump up to 50 when towing. When empty the rears are at 35 psi for best ride/wear. I gross up to 29,000# sometimes.
