to replace the fuel rail pressure sensor?
It’s way way back in the engine bay!

I can hardly reach it with my finger tips let alone a wrench!!!

How do you reach that sucker to replace?

2010 diesel 2500

Thanks

Go to tool store or auto part store and look for short wrench in the size you need. I would look for box wrench if you can get it past sensor. If not 3/4 open wrench last is open end wrench.

How can you generate enough torque with a short wrench that will overcome the tightness the guys and gals put it on with?

When I replaced the fuel pressure bypass valve I had to use a 6 point 18mm socket, a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and an 18 inch cheater pipe?

70 foot pounds my butt!!

In the end it just might be easier to remove the rail and change the sensor on the bench. At least then you will get the correct torque is you don't have a flex handle torque wrench.

I’ve been warned off removing the rail by 3 separate diesel mechanics.

Both said it will leak, and usually at the worst possible time.

I have had many rails off and never had a leak as long as everything is clean. Not sure what they are talking about. If there is no leak when you reassemble it should never leak in the future. There are thousands of guys that have replaced injectors without leaks. There are only two more lines on the rail after you remove the fuel lines and they have the exact same connection that the fuel lines do.
