For those of you running a TST PowerMaxCR on a 04. 5 or later, at what settings are you seeing the best MPG. I have played with the settings on the highway at 65mph down to 55mph and I don't see a lot of difference using the overhead, with settings between 1/1 and 5/4. I know better than to use the overhead but until I can get a full tank thru and hand calculate I have been using it as an estimation. In the TST literature they state that setting 1 on power adds some aditional timing but does not add fuel and hence should give the greatest gains. What kind of effect if any does torque have on mileage? I would assume there is an efficiency point of getting power to the ground but where is that point?

Definitely agree hand calculated 17-18 on level 3-3 lower levels or with the box off i get 15-16 same speeds same highway. going in for reflash on truck this week so i will report again after.

1/1 should yeild the best MPG (its a timing only setting, no extra fuel). I can go over 700 miles on a tank of fuel with my rig, and I dont go under 5/5.

No, but the fuel tank vent kit sure does help in getting a few extra gallons in. One time I drove from my house (about an hour north of Sacramento) to the Oregon border to a truck pull (so you know that there were some smoke shows) then went hunting/driving around on our hay ranch for a day, then home without refueling and had about an 1/8th of a tank left and just over 700 miles. All of this was done with the TST on 5/5 and I averaged 64. 4 MPH.

How many gallons of fuel can you get in your tank. With my DTE around 20 or so I can usually get a full 34 gallons. At 0 DTE there is still suppose to be I think 7 or 8 % of the total tank volume in reserve. This leads me to believe that my tank is larger than 34 gallons. (That is filled all the up the neck by the way). The best tankfull I got was when I was stock and had a "full" fillup and I only got about 530-550 miles. I would be curious to see how many miles I could get with TST @ 1/1, "full" tank and driving 55mph until empty.

As a seperate note... . I see you leave your TST @ 5/5. When you really get on the accelerator and get the boost up to 40psi do you find you have to let the boost back down a little before you release the accelator for fear of turbo bark? This is what I'm finding. I have found that at 1/1 I can't get my boost that high no matter how hard I get on it otherwise I need to pay attention and I can't really speed shift like I would a sports car. According to my overhead I actually get better mileage at 4/4 or 5/4 than I do at 1/1. I'm using the overhead only for reference and hope that it is just off by + or - as opposed to it being totally erratic.

I have gotten over 34 gallons that I know of but I cant remember exactly how much more I got in, and I am anal about not running the fuel level to low.

I think on that trip I put in 36 gallons and when I pulled in to fill up my fuel light had just come on and I was around, or just below an 1/8th of a tank.

Overhead not accurate w/ performance box

The overhead will show better fuel mileage than actual because the TST (and others) convince the ECM it's delivering too little fuel, so it adds more. May be too simplistic an explanation, but I've found the overhead on my wife's truck off about 3 mpg since I installed the Edge.

Well, since I never really look or ever believed my overhead has to say I couldnt tell you how close it is to my actuall mileage, but you are right that fueling boxes throw off an already screwed up overhead computer IMHO.

approx. 700mi divided by approx. 36 gallons= 19. 44 (this isnt exact but it is within a few tenths of what I got on this trip).
