Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
I have a Steel Horse console in my '91 F-350 that I ordered from JC Whitney for holding my CB radio. I need to install the CB into the Dodge I plan to order soon, and was wondering who makes a ROCK SOLID console that I could mount the radio into The radio is about 2. 5" deep, I think, and would need to fit in the console between the console and the roof of the truck.
One problem I have had with the Steel Horse is that it only mounts on either end, so it bounces up and down on every bump. I fixed that by rigging a couple of metal brackets that screw into the old visor clip screw holes in the truck's ceiling, but there is still a bit of shakiness over bumps.
Looking for a better option in a full-length overhead console. Would appreciate any suggestions.
Also was wondering what antenna would be best. I have twin Firestiks right now (only one is hooked up, the other is for another radio). I love the way they look, mounted in the stake pockets. Might not look right with the Dodge, though, and maybe there is a better single-antenna option.
