i went from 11. 5* to 16* on my 215hp truck and got maybe 1 mpg, maybe, but it runs 10 times better, goober butchered installing a injection pump before i bought it and got the timing way off, i got my timing set from snap on and a otc barring tool from ebay, id say $250-300 for both is par

A few years back I'd bought a Barring tool from Cummins. I forgot what I'd payed for it, But it was reasonable. I'm not sure if they differ, I'd bought it for the '89, and it worked good. Moose00

on the snap on set, will any dial indicator work, I have a couple and that would save me 185. 00. the shaft looks thin, what diameter is it? what is the pin along with the guage do?

someone asked that question a month or so ago and i posted several pics and measurements, if you can't find it with a search ill post it again

That was me you posted it for... . and yeah it helped alot..... I used a gauge I already have with the Snap On tools. We just had to make a bushing/collar to take up the difference between the gauge and the snapon gauge holder. Then just get an extension for your gauge... ... I can get pictures of mine if you need also... Marc

I had to make a bushing for mine also. I used an extra door hinge bushing out of one of those Help packs from the auto parts store. I also had to put a longer set screw into the adapter. Make sure you have an extension for your dial indicator. I had to fab one up.

snap-on / blue point and if you charge reasonable you will make the money back I did and used it 5 times . my turning tool is not one piece it has a sleave and it makes it a lot easyer. bump it and have fun!
