Looking for the latest intel on boxes & programmers or injectors. Here's my situation- I've been swapping the 35" tires back out for stock when pulling the fiver & that's getting old. What I'm looking for is about 10% more torque at 1800, I figure that will put me right back at stock pulling levels with the 35's on.
Don't want to get into the trans, turbo, head studs and all that (yet). If injectors are the way to go, I don't have any problem pulling the cover and doing injectors & studs, though.
This truck needs to stay reliable because it's our cross-country travel vehicle, and I don't want to have a meltdown halfway across the country.
A few months back I would have gone TST without hesitation, but seems like a lot of problem reports lately. Or is it just they have the lion's share of sales?
Early reports on the Smarty were good, but now driveability and shifting issues are heard.
I want power that will be reliable and get us home in one piece, plus be driveable and not twitchy or something you have to drive just right to make it behave.
So... . Am I expecting too much?
TIA-
Gary
