Where can I get a good deal on a detroit locker for my rear Dana 80 I would appreciate being informed since I toasted my spiders Friday night. <_<

Still not quite sure if I'm gonna go this route, but I'm exploring my options at this point.

Randy's Ring & Pinion out of Everett, WA is were I get all my stuff. Do a google search for their website to get their phone #.

I know it is more $$ but put in an ARB if your gonna continue to pull. Several guys have used a detroit and when they broke an axle they destroyed the detroit.

This may be the last year that I pull for quite a while except for my two hometown pulls. I'm getting married in 9 months. I really can't afford a Detroit, but I don't want to put spiders back in. :(

Well if you break a Detroit you'll probably break an ARB as well. I broke a shaft in the rear axle of my Jeep and it cracked the ARB in half  Worst part is I was driving like an old lady.

It isn't cracking the case on the detroit, it is when the axle breaks and the internals recoil, it breaks some of the locking mechanisms.

Just for comparison, my Dana Power Lok was just over $600 bucks w/shipping.

I also have my old open carrier minus the ring gear-3. 55-if your interested in making a Lincoln locker. Good shape, just got tires of being a peg leg.

Right from the shock load. ARB will do that as well... though I could see where it might hold up since it won't be able to "recoil" as much.

I paid $550 for my Detroit (D70) and the ARB was around $800 I believe.
