The Flex-a-lite fan #262 is a dual electric fan replacement for the stock fan blade and fan shroud on the '94 - '02 diesel.

Here's a picture and description

Where can I get the best price on this setup? The speedshops are asking about $550. It seems to me that a year ago, these were under $400. :-(

I've found that I can gain about 1. 5 MPG by removing the fan blade, but that only works well in the cooler months. I want to keep the fan blade off, but this is a pretty steep price.

Here's a writeup in TDR in 2007 on an installation - https://www.turbodieselregister.com...sion/184940-flex-lite-262-fans-installed.html

If your fan clutch is not locked up, there is very little drag from the fan. And if you are overheating, no electric fan can move as much air as the stock fan.

Charles...

They never have been under 400 for these fans. I will PM you a place to call which is out here in my town and he will get you fixed up for a set if you want them. They have been right around 500 +/- depending on availability.

I am the one who did the write up on them and they are now going on two years of being daily driven. I have had zero issues with them and they have performed flawlessly for me. I can not honestly say what fuel milage gains I have seen as I have done so much other stuff to my truck since their install. It was hard to compare how much power I seen on a dyno with their install as I had no way to compare them to a stock fan when it was in full engaged mode. Summertime driving means the a/c stays colder and when your in traffic a meare flip of a switch and it will freeze you when you engage them manually at 100%. Winter engine warmups are alot easier also without the fan rotating all the time and during the winter I hardly ever notice the electric one engane and run.

I installed mine for a different look that show season and am very happy with the results I have had the last two years. It was money well spent and if I had to do ti over again I would do it again. If you have any questions I will do what I can to answer them... ..... Andy
