I am looking to buy a new 5500 for towing my 18500 pound fiver. Some time ago I remember a dealer in Texas that had some very good prices and worked with a local upfitter for a very reasonably priced steel bed. I have searched but cannot find any reference to such a dealer. Do any of you know what I am talking about and can you point me to that or any other good price dealer?

Thanks,

George

PM member HBarlow from texas he might know of them, he certainly got a great deal on his 3500C&C bed and the truck as well.

You don't say where in the country your at...

Two of the lowest priced dealers in the country are a few miles from us... . Dave Smith in Kellogg ID and Dishman Dodge here in Spokane...

Both usually sell to TDR members for cost, less 1,000 and any rebates going on at this time... . both usually have a good selection...

You need to understand that you can't really run a 5500 empty... the ride will jar your teeth out... you might not care for the ride around town... .

Both have good web sights and offer low pricing by phone or fax... both will pick you up at the airport for delivery and drive away and both have a program to buy the truck here and take delivery someplace else... .

If you do nothing more, get a price from them and get your local dealer to match it... . I've bought from both... Rob Croswhite is my favorite guy at Dishman... .

Hope this helps...

This point needs to be stressed over and over and over and over and over. You do not want a 5500 to pull any 5'er regardless of how much it weighs. It will ride rough empty and loaded. It will beat the crap outta your 5'er and you.
