After a year on this site we are finally really to buy a new 600

We live near Wilsonville Oregon and we'd like to do business with T & C in Wilsonville as they do a good job taking care of our other vehicles, but I'm just not sure if they would work that much on pricing with a new rig.

We'd want a Laramie 4. 5 600 1 ton SRW with the short box and an auto trans.

Has anyone else bought a truck from Town and Country in Oregon?

Wondering if it would be worth the drive to go to Lithia in Grants Pass, Dishman in Spokane or even Dave Smith in Kellogg?

What are the best out the door prices on the 1 ton Laramie and where did you end up buying?

Also, is it better to buy at the end of the month to get a better price?

Thanks for the help!

We bought a 04. 5 laramie quad cab long bed SRW 6 sp w/nav at Dick's Country Dodge in Hillsboro for 37500 cash, no trade, invoice was about 42500 or so. We showed up at 2pm drove out at 4:30 pm w/ plates.

Back in April/May I started my search for the right dealer. To cut the BS I wound up at Dishman Dodge in Spokane where I got my 04. 5 Dually. Wonderful group to deal with. Fantastic price. Great accessory department. I had all my options, liner, eBrake, bars, etc. put on before I took delivery. Talk to Brian Vining (Vinny) at 877-568-3363. Dishman beat out Smith, Addis, and another dealer in the Portland area. Tell Vinny Jay sent you!

You may end up ordering an '05 depending on how you want it equipped. Give John Reginato - Fleet Sales Manager @ Tacoma Dodge a call (253) 475-7301 / (888) 403-6343. Tell him I referred you. You WILL NOT be disapointed in the price!

I have bought my last 3 trucks from Dishman... You might talk to Rob Crosswhite... . and my boy picked his up 3 weeks ago... .

For TDR members they currently they are selling at 1000 back of invoice and than apply any current rebates... also... if you join the farm bureau in your state... you'll qualify for an additional 500 bucks... . with a special coupon...

I wanted a few extras added to my truck. . and I felt that the accessories manager did a good job in helping me... .

What was your out the door prices?

We have family that's worked for Chrysler for the "Friends and Family" discount.

We also have a business for the "business discount"

When they say "so much off the dealer invoice", does that mean Manufacturer suggested price before the add ons?

Thanks for your help

I would shoot for at least invoice plus rebates from your local dealer wih holdbacks they are still making up to 1800 on the deal. Dishman has a TDR friend and they are offering 1K below invoice plus rebates. That is about as good as it gets. I got my 2003 when they first came out at 649 below invoice plus rebates at DSM in Kellog but I think Dishmans expansion is the Pacific Northwest Leader now.

Local Dealers may tell you to walk but thats about it if they don't want a sale then it's there loss not yours.

To get the $1,000 under Dealer Invoice at Dishman Dodge, you need to talk with Butch and ask for the "Big Bob Special".

Here is his email address : -- email address removed --

His phone number is 800-457-6500.

Dealers

Thanks Guys,

Sounds like eveyone is having great sales and service from Dishman, wish there were more to choose from in the Oregon Dodge group.

When you go shopping locally, tell the other dealers that your able to get the truck you want from dave smith and they will all meet or beat his price. They are trying to be competitive with them. I was surprised when I went shopping for my truck on how quick the dealers were to start dropping their prices when I told them "yah, but I can get it from dave smith for this price". But if I would have had the time to order my truck, I would have got the BIG BOB special.

I turned to Dave Smith after being laughed out of two local dealerships for mentioning that I expected to buy at invoice and wanted the Dodge and Farm Bureau rebates deducted from that.

MSRP $41,500

Out the door for $32,700 after rebates, before tax.

No ID tax for out of state buyer but got bent over good by CA when I got it back here.

phloop, when I mentioned Dave Smith to a local dealer I was all but threatened with phisical violence. Didn't bother trying again, just bought a plane ticket.

Ditto on Dishman. My upteenth rig and best deal and service I ever got. Will go back next time. George

BIGBOB & Butch @ Dishman... . Oo. :) Oo. :D

Got our 04. 5 3500 for a total of $3,985 UNDER invoice:

BIGBOB/Butch Discount $1,000

MFR Rebates $2,500

Wash. St. Farm Bureau $385 ($15 to jopin as an associate member)

Picked us up at the airport, gave us all the time we wanted to inspect the vehicle, fixed the smallest detail I had, even had some Advil (I had a headache from flying I think)... . Tank was full of fuel and lunch with BIG BOB was cool.

Worst part about the whole deal was ordering it on 4/19 and waiting for delivery (7/23). :p

Out the door prices?

Guys,

What were the out the door prices of your rigs with all the goodies you mentioned?

This would help to know the bottom line so we can compare apples to apples.

Thank you

Mel and Carla

Just put the truck together that you want and the dealer you are working with will give you the universal invoice prices. All dealers use same invoice and MSRP prices. Then you do your dealing. Put together what you want first. THEN it is apples and apples. George

I guess being an afternoons drive from Kellogg gives the dealers in the portland area incentive to try and deal as they know you can just jump in your rig and drive to a better deal. When I got my truck, I was able to get it from the local stealership for a bit less than what I could have gotten the same truck from dave smith for.

DISHMAN does LEATHER

Just another thought for you guys looking for new trucks. . .

If you want leather, DO NOT order the factory leather but instead the Premium Cloth seats. Let Dishman know you want leather and when the truck comes in a local shop will install it, for a very reasonable price (not sure what it is).

I have seen this leather and if I had it to do again I would definitely go this route (I got the factory leather on my '03. ) A friend of Big Bob's did this and his was beautiful, and not only that but the back seat was leather (it's vinyl from the factory if you get the leather option) but the center console is also leather and maybe even the sides of the seat. As I recall the only vinyl was the seat backs.

Big Bob could probably tell you more about it. Just a heads-up for you folks thinking leather.

LEATHER . . . I just spoke with Craig Painter at Dishman and they do the leather in-house. It is $1495 installed, and comes either monotone or 2-tone to match the interior colors. It's that price for new trucks you order or if you bring yours after-the-fact. They do about 6 trucks a week he said.

They also do 2nd Gen trucks for the same price.
