Slid out of my buddy's cloth seat-equipped Cummins Ram last weekend, and reached to shut the door... ZZZZAAAAPPPP!! A few more jolts like that, you can just call me "Twitch" instead of "Briar"... I haven't been too happy with the hot seat the leather option in my Ram gives me in the summertime, but I think I'll live with it now, I'll take damp buns over getting electrocuted, any day.
Buddy sez he's used to it. Well, he can have it. I'm an electrician, if I get zapped, it means I've done something wrong. I've had a few big hits on the job, and don't need daily reminders of how close I've come, LOL.
Actually, it's all funny to me, #ad
. not a big deal, but I finally have a reason to quit griping about the seats.

You know Tom thats something I haven't noticed yet but now that you mention it your absolutely right!!!!! #ad

Thanks for pointing that out! Gotta love leather.

I've gotten into the habit of sliding my leg against my aluminum running board as my foot hits the ground, the static discharge passes thru my leg where it isn't noticeable, don't even think about it anymore. Guess shock treatment works for learning new habits, plus there's always a nice clean spot on the running board.

Best thing about my leather seats? The bun heaters!

Its been snowing a little every day for the last week. Been using the seat heaters every day getting into the cold truck. Great feature.

Well, I have cloth seats, but I dont get bit everytime I get out. I just grab on to my big allumnium shifter knob. That way, I'm grounded to the truck, and dont get bit.

Cloth seats here, but I hardly ever get shocked.

Could be due to the fact that I have my key in hand as I exit, and before I touch the door with my hand, I touch the key to the door before dropping the keys into my pocket.
Can usually hear the "zaaaaap"; could probably kill a few bugs in the summer doing this! #ad

I bunged a door panel screw to expose some bare metal and hold my finger on it as I slide out. I really rather make money on those electrons than get zapped by them.

I normally get a little buzz #ad
when I get out of my truck. However, the other day me and my wife were getting out of the truck when I hearZZAAAAPPP and a holler. I mean I heard it hit her loud and clear from the other side of the truck and all I could think was "**** , that had to hurt". It hurt all right. I hear about it everytime she gets out now.
Maybe I can get a new truck with leather if I tell her it stops the zapping. I'll give it a shot anyway.

I haven't had that problem. I have cloth seats also. Maybe it's the seat covers that save me.

The fix;
Put your foot on the step, you have one don't you, press down and lift yourself up and out of the truck. No shock and your seat ( truck) will thank you for it.

Gitchesum, you might try the leather pants... no, I mean for the wife. Might make for a #ad
temporary fix. It might even help in convincing her in getting that super upgrade. #ad

There's gotta be some way to BOMB the seat to get that extra power to go thru the drivetrain,I think we're gonna need another one of them box gizmos!!Must be worth 10 or 15 horseys #ad
