Well, next on the never-ending project list of this twisted form of idolatry is a set of pillar guages. I am looking for the "perfect" set of probably three guages. A boost that is over 40lbs, a matching pyro and a matching dual mechanical fuel pressure guage. Anybody done this and happy happy happy? Thanks and New Years appreciation, George.

Probably the best thing I did to my truck--about year ago. I have Westach--he's on the net--send for his catalog--lots of gauges you can't order from Geno's or such... ... I put dual EGT where the change holders used to be in the dash... . and put Temp w/switch so I can check all temps (engine oil, trans, front and rear end), also got nice 50 lbs. Boost gauge (least used), fuel pressure (most used--just replaced pump!!)... hope this helps... R, J. B. ;)

Thanks Bill. Snowmobiling there yet? Met Jim Bigley in Hamilton who heads the GM Diesel Page? Good guy.

Well, it seems the guage thing is all over the place. I did well in my GM with Westach. Mechanical appears to be the choice for fuel and boost/egt appear to be plenty for the average guy. George

George, we've had a drought here till recently, last I heard they haven't even opened all the trails in Yellowstone yet. Plenty of precipitation lately but too warm for snow, close to 50° in the valleys this week.

I've communicated with Jim via email but haven't met him. The local Duramax club seems like a great bunch of guys. Definitly will be at their big pull off next summer and think quite a few Cummins owners will be too, don't want to be showed up like last year. Going to be hard to beat though, some of the Max's are pushing over 700hp.

Bill--were you at the hill climb this last time? I was going to be there to as I have become friends with Bill Heath of Turbomaster fame. We thought about using my truck (new 2002HO) but used his 2001 that his neighbor had bought. Bill has a real nice 420hp set up using his own proprietary box and turbo mod that gets 24mpg on the highway at 5 over legal. Problem with the climb was the stock clutch. If a GV were involved the rpms would not have to be drug so far, loading the clutch. That is if the GV shifted fast enough.

Know anybody that has used a 4way Westach and where they mounted it? George

No doubt the best looking gauges for your truck would be the Autometer Ultralites. And what hillclimb are you guys refering to... I have a Arctic Cat MC 800 151" if anyone wants to know some great powder riding in Oregon just contact me.

NOT that kind of hillclimbing but with truck and trailer on a long hill outside Missoula. However, I will take you up on your offer for steep and deep powder hounding. Have a 97 MM (called the "Other Woman") that piped, lightened some and has a 151" Camoplast. Love that powder. Don't suppose you have any? Going to Kalowna next week in BC. Oh yeah. Got any guages? George

The hill climb we're referring to is an annual event that the DuraMax guys have been putting on that is a true test of diesel power, a timed 10 mile 6% hill pulling a 10k trailer from a dead stop. All diesel pickups are welcome and encouraged. The DuraMax that won last year was doing over 70 mph at the top, the closest Dodge was in the high 50s. Scott of Scotty air fame says he will be there next year with his Dodge and win, we'll see. I'll post it about it when it comes around so others may attend.

I didn't make last years, had to go to a wedding.

If you're looking for a dual fuel pressure gauge, the dual combo Westach 2DC3-201 (0-16 PSIG) is what I use to monitor pre-filter and post-filter fuel pressure. I'm sure they can also build a 0-30 PSIG gauge if you prefer. The Westach 2DC3-201 is a perfect match appearance-wise with the Westach dual combo EGT/boost gauge.
