Hi All,

Just looking for some opinions on who you think makes the best shift kit for a 1993 W250 (3. 54 gears)... . I am fixing up the transmission before messing w/ the engine/pump..... I bought but haven't installed yet (Figure I'd do it all at once)

DTT 89 TC , B&M finned deep alum Trans Pan, Isspro Trans Temp Guage, Tru Cool transmission Cooler..... Last ingredient would be the shift Kit... . I've heard of TransGo and Superior but was wondering if theses were the best or are there better kits out there and if so where can I buy them? BTW the Trans was rebuilt by a trans shop about 30K ago and the truck hasn't towed since then.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Andrew

Trans-go Makes a nice kit, and I have used them with lots of success, But if you have already spent the money on a DTT Converter, why not just get Bills Valve Body??

I had the Trans-Go TFOD-Diesel kit installed in mine and like it. It firmed the shifts up but not to the point of being harsh. Most of the "performance" kits I've used in the past made the transmissions shift way too hard - not good when you're towing a heavy load.

I've heard the Transgo shift kits alter the fluid flow so fluid circulates when in park or neutral, unlike the factory neutral only. I don't know if all of the Transgo kits do this, but it would be a good improvement.

I had a Transgo TFOD installed in my 518 transmission before I installed it in da house. Dunno if it improved anything or not as I never got to drive the truck that it came out of before, but it definitely hasn't had a detrimental effect either. I know the guy at the shop who did it said that the piston in the kit is a much better design than the OEM one. Something about the lands are cut the wrong way at the factory or something to that effect?
