What are the best schock absorbers for a 1992 Dodge 4x4 Club Cab, turbodiesel with4 automatic transmission? The local les Schwab tire dealer suys their RMX monotubes made by Gabriel are best.

I am considering Rancho 9000. I will pull a 25 foot fifth wheel trailer some of the time. Most of the time the truck will run unloaded. I don't wnat too harsh a ride. I have air sprigs in the rear.

Are the Rancho superior and worth the extra money? What else should be considered.

I am having a problem. When I go into reverse there is a clunking sound. I have new U joints, carrier bearingand front pinion bearing in the rear end. Seems worse when I have been runnin a while. Any ideas.

I can not tell you what the best shock is, thats application dependent, But for your truck I would think your first choice of RANCHO 9000's would be a very good one. Bilstein, offers a nice shock also, I think you would be pleased them either one. The clunk in the drive line sounds like wear in the pinion gear gear.

Just stuck a set of KYB Mono-Max's on my wife's F150 Supercrew and my F-350 CC Ford. Way better than the stockers on the 150 and the Pro-comps on the 350. I have Rancho 9000's on my 85, they're ok, too.

One thing about those KYB's, though. Better have about 3 men and a couple of boys around to install them. I have never fought a shock as much as these to compress them enough to get the bolts in. I thought they would ride rough as stiff as they were, but it has turned out to be not the case. Good riding shocks!
