"When I have the money; I don't have the time" and vice-versa... (sound familiar? ).

Well, with my job position having been washed down the Cedar River here in eastern Iowa this past month, I now have more time than I want on my hands. Might as well make the best of it and get some long-put-off projects done if I can afford to.

... And it looks like I procrastinated long enough on ordering my Moog steering and suspension components from RockAuto that I'll now pay MUCH higher prices for the parts...

I don't want the same to happen with the 3rd gen adjustable track bar I also want/need to install. When I go to Solid Steel's website, they don't give prices and I'm not familiar with any of the distributors they list.

So who has the best price on that conversion for my '96?

Does anyone out there beat RockAuto's new high(er) prices for the Moog components?

Oh, and what's the best source (cheapest) for Rancho RS9000 shocks these days, too?

My dodge-death-wobble is almost non-driveable and I cannot wait any longer. My wife and son are having to drive my truck, too, and THAT really worries me knowing how violent and sudden the shaking can get.

Thanks for any help that can save me some bucks!

Go with Rip (503) 654-9004

Thanks guys. I called Rip today. I'm still reeling from what this miserable Dodge front suspension costs to rebuild and upgrade (and it still will not be as good as leaf springs!).

Is $500 really the best price for a 3rd gen trackbar?! That little bracket alone is $185! If I could get some dimensions, i know i could weld one up for a small fraction of that.

I'm looking at over $1000 to rebuild the front suspension and that doesn't even count new shocks or tires! So add another $600 to $700. Just for the front.

I'll cuss the dodge morons that designed this wimpy, worthless front suspension for as long as i own my truck...

Like Rip says "It would be fine for a 1/2 ton pickup with a 6-cylinder gas motor".

I would have to add that it would need to be a street-driven by grandma 1/2 ton.

Maybe I should put the $4000 to $5000 this frontend needs into finding a real Dana 60 kingpin axle and leaf springs from a Ford and just get it right once and for all.

I understand what you're saying. I put about $2500 in the front end but its finally fixed and it's a pleasure to drive. Took me about 2 years to fix it. I also had a really bad right front tire wear that was ruining new tires in 2 months and got that fixed. I bought my adj 3rd gen setup from PSC but I don't think they sell it anymore. There are some knock-off brands selling cheaper set-ups if you search around.

At least it is worth it now that it drives so well. I love that 3 turn PSC steering box. It's effortless steering.

Good luck,

Dave
