Best tires for high HP?

I have Michelin XC LT4 s with about 10K miles. I just noticed that a lot of the small tread segments are breaking off. These are pieces 1/4 X 1" or smaller and are mostly on the outer edges but some are in the center. This is probably due to some inadvertent pressure on the throttle which causes the rear wheels to suddenly lose traction. I just went over to NTB and asked them if my tires were defective. After speculating that it was caused by alignment, suspension, heavy loads, gravel roads, etc. they finally said there was nothing they could do.

Have any of you experienced this condition? Are any tires better?
