I've got a 2006 2500 CTD 2WD that can put down more power than my stock tires can handle. Does anybody have any suggestions for the best tire/wheel combo that will give me good traction for acceleration and remain very streetable? I'm not interested in drag slicks. I live in Southern California, and keep it on the road, so snow and mud are not a concern. I'm not looking for high lifts or the aggressive off road look. Strictly interested in performance -- acceleration first, handling 2nd.

Methinks Meacham was running Pirelli Scorpions on his drag truck. MEvins is his screen name here. I'm pretty sure he researched tires to make that selection.

Was/is--the truck has been down all season waiting for a new engine build.

if you want the best performance and still be able to drive it I would say some Toyo Proxes ST's that is their sport truck tire and they get good and sticky when you warm them up or with some VHT ;)
