Big three, 2011 tow ratings and GCWR.

Is this yet another Dodge trait!

I know what poor towing turbos are. Like the sled puller 66 I ran for a while and the "Not much better" pro street 66 I'm now running. The best towing turbo I've ran was the early HTB2 62/65/12 I ran back in 04 and 05. I've had enough of the laggy turbos and want to put something back on that spools like my old 62/65/12. Are the new 62/71/13s any better or just as good?

With the injectors, Smarty, and other power adders you have, a small turbo that is good at low power and for towing won't control maximum egt's enough at high power. I recommend you get the BD compound turbos to have the best of both worlds. I finally did that after going through a half dozen single turbo setups. The BD twins have been on over twice as long as any single turbo I ever used, and they are still in excellent condition. They fit, don't leak, and last.

I agree with the BD twins, I was very reluctant going with the R700 kit vs their original towing setup. With F1. 5's and Smarty, my truck tows fantastic.

I previously had an SPS62 and a Silver62, the SPS did a pretty good job, the Silver did not tow for crap, to put it mildly.

I ran a 62/65/12 with great towing and street maners with a tune arround 500 hp. It would spool very well at low rpm and kept the smoke down. I plan on detuning back to arround 500 hp so I can run a smaller turbo. I have a old sled puller 66 I may send off to have it changed to a 62/65/13ss that was recommended. I was thinking the 62/71/13 may be a bit sluggish but wanted to see if anyone here has first hand experiance.
