Particulate filter problem

I Have A 1991 W 250 Auto. That Has Been A Great Truck, No Problems. But Now I Am Having To Replace Her Due To An Accident, Thanks To A Nut Driving On The Wrong Side Of The Road. I Was Told That An 03 Ho 6 Speed Would Be A Good Choice, But Stay Away From The 08. I Need A Reliable 4x4 For Heavy Farm Work, Pulling, Etc Any Info Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thank You

For what it's worth, my brother-in-law's '04. 5 2500 has been beat harder and mistreated more than any truck I've seen..... It's driven 150+ miles a day, hauls/tows heavy loads off road on a regular basis, and sees very little regular maintainence. Even with that said, it keeps coming back for more. As a work truck, I'd say it's done extremely well.

The 96 to 98 12 valve the p7100 pump is very reliable. 5 spds have 215 hp/44o torque. Easy to add more power.

03 and 04 seem most reliable in 3rd gen trucks and they usually get decent mileage. 05 and 06 had an injector change which have been problematic.
