Right now I am pretty much bone stock. I want to hear from everyone what they have... . What works... . what kind of gains in mileage

I have enough power, I want mileage gains. What is actually worth spending the cash for?

I vote for an egg under the go pedal

if that won't work for ya I'd say smarty.

good for 2 if you don't use the power

Dennis

Smarty all the way, sounds like all you need is the JR. if your not going for the big #s I'm currently running the SR. and I'm getting anywhere from 3-5 MPG increase at hwy speeds just resist the temptation to release the beast under your hood. Stay out off the skinny pedal.

Been running a Smarty JR about two months now. 2-3 increase in MPG, safe but noticeable power, and a great big increase in the fun factor. :D

I have, and do run several boxes and programmers, never has one given me an increase in mileage. I am being honest, I have not lost any mpg's, but none that I have tried helped.

I am not saying other folks have not had gains, but this has been my experience. Jess

Smarty on the lowest settings with timing helps and will give 1-2 mpg depending on other factors.

Dr P Predator box gives a nice increase in low end power and a bump in mileage, varies by use.

Those 2 I have first hand knowledge of. The TST, Edge, and Quad offerings are also supposed to help with varying results. If your looking for big gains you will need to change out the cam and/or injectors, there is only a minimal amout you can do with programmers to override the built in emissions pieces.

I agree with you on this, cerberusiam 100%. When I first installed my new injectors, my mileage did seem to increase, engine performed smoother throughout the rpm band.

Every mechanical upgrade(lift pump, injectors, air intake, exhaust... ) had a positive affect.

The electronic upgrades have been positive, sometimes... . but suspect, and some short lived.

It has been fun trying these products, and almost all have produced more advanced fueling and power, but mileage increase, in my case has been elusive.

You are actually in a very unique position, You have DPP And GDP within a rock's throw... . I would bend their ear, every chance you can.

I love spending money on my truck but if you look at it from an economic perspective, it will take an awfully long time to pay for a programmer in fuel savings.

Say you get a 5% increase in economy (which I think is generous compared to what you'll really see) and you spend $2000/year on fuel. A 5% decrease is $100/year savings.

Programmers are fun if you want more power but if economy is really your goal, they're not really economical unless you look at a very long term payback.

JR helps milage a little and you get a code reader too. All factored in it is the best mod on my truck. 400hp intead of 300 and no milage penalty. Towing is a breeze now with the JR and supporting mods.
