Best way to check vehicle history?

Other than CARFAX, anyone have another way to check on a used car before buying?

Any dealer can check warranty history but I would spend a little to have a good tech do a good inspection

Good point Bob. I incurred $13,656 damage including frame tweaking to my 2000 Trooper. The Carfax came up clean. John,get it checked out by a reputable technician. My buddy's a general manager of a Bob Baker dealership here in San Diego and they don't use Carfax.
