Have 4" BD catback exhaust. Downpipe is still 3" back. DC test pipe sitting in garage. The cat is getting restless. Wants out real bad. But when I opened the door, he just wouldnt go. Very stubborn animal. Tried squirting him with WD40 and that only pi$$ed him off. Whats next?

A Sawzall will do it

Just cut off the pipe with a sawzall as close to the convertor as possible. The test pipe will just slide back on afterwards. It can also be done with a hacksaw,if you have all day

A dog?... .....

dont dogs like chasing Cats... ???

that should get it out... ???

Does the test pipe work with aftermarket exhaust systems like the BD or Banks??? I've been wanting to rid myself of it but wasn't sure if the test pipe would fit my Banks exhaust.

Dkevdog,

I hope it works, because I am trying to insert the test pipe between the factory 3" downpipe and a 4" BD catback exhaust.

Looking at it, it should be just fine assuming the length is close. Looks like the factory cat has a straight 3" on the inlet side and a straight 4" on the outlet side. -- The BD exhaust has a flaired 4" inlet that slips over the cat outlet and clamp. -- The downpipe ( I hope ) should be 3" flaired on its end the cat slips into and clamps. -- In theory the muffler only needs to slip over a 4" pipe. It does not need to know if that happens to be a cat, or just straight pipe, or what ever.

The test pipe is a nice piece of heavy alum anodized, about 2. 5 feet long. Its 4" most the way with a 3" reduce at one end. Assuming I can get everything apart it should just slip in place and clamp down. -- And the suprise is it moves to 4" right at the end of the downpipe, where the cheap bast*rds could have made it 3" most the way back and then went to 4" right in front of the muffler.

Their may be cheaper methods but it is an easy, premade, bolt in place method you can just order and go.

Dkevdog,

Well it looks like the cat slips over the end of the downpipe and not like I mentioned above. The ID of the test pipe is 3" exactly. So I hope this means the factory 3" downpipe is OD. Then it should slide right on.

Tape measure shows this at 32" long. and exactly 32" from the forward end of the cat to the edge of the muffler. Hope things slip over far enough so I dont have to trim. Looks real close.

Will see this weekend.
