I have a 95 auto, #5 TST, gov. spring kit and boost @ 35psi.

While pulling my 12000# 5th Wheel, my temps, both egt and engine temps rise fast and high. I am just changing to 4" turbo back. What will give me the next best lower temps?

Thanks for the help, this forum is great.

Turbo

16cm turbo housing or HX40 turbo. I need to do something with my turbo at some point. I'm leaning towards a PDR HX35 16cm but that may be too small for future bombing, I don't know. I'm sure someone with a lot more knowledge will chime in here.

Well ... soapbox dragging out ... HX40 would be my vote. Not taking away from SOTN's HX35, but I'd get his HX40-16. I totally agree CumminsPower98, the HX40 has more bandwidth. I tow with the stock configuration HX40-16 & am happy with it's spool up & reduction in EGT over the HX35. I don't remember exactly how much it reduced EGT, but it was a bunch.

A plate that got me 1500 degrees in the center position with the HX35, got me 1300 degrees 3/4 of the way forward with the HX40.

By the way, lag & EGT can be reduced further with a good air filter. I'm using the BHAF, which reduced lag noticeably :) and EGT by another 50 degrees. The lag reduction just told me that the stock airbox can't hack the mission with BOMB'ed air flow levels. :D

Hope this helps. Oo.
