I'd like to install some driving lights and was wondering what would be the best method of mounting them. I'm not too big on drilling holes in the bumper, guess I"m looking for a grille guard that has light tabs on it, or??

If you've installed auxilliary lights, please tell me how you did it, and how you like it.

Thanks,

Bryan

If you don' t have the fog lights, you could also mount something in there bumper there.

I was thinking of figuring out a way to mount lights into the rear bumper for auxillary backup lights. I want it to look clean and I don't want anything hanging down from the bumper.

Has anyone done this before?

Grill/Brush Guards!

We live where there are lots of deer, so we install heavy duty brush/grill guards. They are great to mount aux lights on.

I actually wire a relay and jumper in the power dist box and use the fog lights as daytime running lights. We also have headache racks on our trucks that are great for installing backup lights using high power off-road lights. They light up beside and to the rear of the trucks.

i made little drop down brackets that i bolted to the frame for my backup lights... they fit into a factory hole. will try to snap picture today of the bracket, but lights are here [yeah, i know, the one grill on the light is crooked :(]

Nickleinonen,

That's really slick looking, what lights did you use? Could you possibly post a photo showing the installation?

Greg - what's one of those co$t? How about the installation, do you have to drill holes into the bumper?

Later,

Bryan

some no name cheap ones [baja something] that i got when they were on sale [generic parts store special sale]. they are H4 55w driving lights [spot light type, not flood light type]

they are also hooked to a dimmer setup i wired up with a HD trailer brake rheostat. gives them about 9-10v in dim mode, and full in brite mode
