I'm going to install the used flatbed I bought a while back. Someone decided to write a swear word on it in a noticeable spot ( this was before buying it). Some of it had been covered up with blue paint.

What is the best wat to remove it, without hurting the aluminum? Will alum. wash/brightener do it? I will be polishing it up some, anyhow, to clean the rest of it up.

Thanks.

Good question. I'm not 100% sure. It may be. It isn't all white with oxidation. I've hit a small area with some polish by hand, and it cleans up really nice. Took very little effort.

It is an older one. Bought it at an auction this past spring. There is no name on it that I can find, so I don't know who made it. Doesn't look to be homemade. I'll try to get some pictures up when it is on.

I will be putting on some Herculiner on part of the floor where I will have a steel transfer fuel tank. It'll be good enough for that. May do more, but not sure how much I'll do yet. May do the whole floor.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. :)

I forgot about that stuff. Ya, it is prety strong stuff. ANY alum. wheel cleaner in the stores are pretty much worthless compared the "real" aluminum wash. We have just a little left in a 5gal. container in the shop. I can try that. Need to hit the floor with it also, to clean it up.

Didn't get much done today on it. Waiting on parts for the welder. Have to replace some of the floor and one other piece.
