here's my problem. I think I may just go ahead and touch this up, the STEALER probably won't repaint it anyway, even though this is NOT from any damage to new truck :mad: . Anyway, what would be the best way to go about fixing this? Have heard some people use a syringe, any other ideas? Much appreciated...

Still pi$$ed off at DC... . may not have this'un for long :{

Based on what I see my guess would be that you wear boots a lot of the time and as you're climbing in you are nailing those rockers. If it was simply a paint application issue it would be more uniform up and down the rocker IMO. With that much paint missing if I were you I would find a local paint shop willing to spray just the top coat and then sand that entire area down, primer and prep it, then let them spray the top coat. I've done lots of major chip and rust repairs this way over the years and if you do a good prep job they will most likely spray it pretty cheap ($50 or so). Any kind of "chip" repair" you do won't be satisfactory IMO. Then I'd put some of that 3M clear protective tape (thick vinyl) over the top of it to help protect it better - you can get it from Geno's garage ( http://www.genosgarage.com ) but I can't find it on their website.

Wish I could say that's what it was, but it's not. I wear tennis shoes 90% of the time, and the truck is only 6 months old, 12k miles. Thanks for the tip though! :)

Bob-

I wanted to do the same thing when I got my Rhino lining in, but they wouldn't do it b/c the said the door wouldn't be able to close. Dunno if that was true, but they wanted another $100 to do it anyways so I said forget it!

I sprayed the lower 12" of my rocker panels, wheelwells and door sills all with Armorthane, when I had the equipment last year. The doors work fine. It was a lot of work !!!!
