I was wondering which injector would yield better mileage DD2's or 275's, assuming both injectors are driven the same?

I know the DD2's are more powerful but assuming both were the same price and mileage was more important than a little more HP, what would be the better choice?

Thanks,

Ryan

The 275's may give slightly better MPGs, but like you indicated, they wont give much power increase. The DD2's will be more responsive.

Some of the best MPG reports have been with Don M 1's to 1. 5's. They run well too. For a few more bucks they may be a better way to go in the long run.

My DD1's didnt really give better mileage than stock. Thinking DD2's wont be much better, and these DD3's are not great for MPGs either. The DD injectors do run very well though.

exactly times have changed,. look to the newer style injectors.

with the cost of fuel its more important than ever.

I run 400hp and can still get 2o mpg unloaded on the hwy .

do your homework

I can one up you! With the same sticks as you, I get 23 unloaded. Neener- neener- neener! :-laf

I went from stock sticks to a set of used DDII's and my MPG didn't change under the same driving conditions. If I play in town blowing smoke it will be lower than stock sticks. I am extremely happy with my 325$ DDII's.

For the short time I had DD2's in, I did get a power and milage increase. Maybe the ETCs like injectors better for milage?

Dave

The DD2s cost me about 0. 5 to 1. 0 MPG when towing (see signature). Mileage went from 10. 0 to 10. 5 MPG down to 9. 5 MPG (hand calculated, of course). They're pretty toasty for towing work with the stock HX35-12 as well.

Cooker,

We have had tons of customers report back to us that the MPG gains are pretty good with the 275RV's, the tough part is driving them like you want MPG as they wake the truck up considerably!! If you can add an EZ or a VAn Aaken V box it really makes the difference MPG wise too.

Mark @ DPPI

Maybe that's what it was. I had an EZ in at the time.

I don't have any issues towing with DDII's. OF course I turn my Banks box off completely and just do boost fooling with it. I can barely get over 1200F pre turbo at WOT for long periods of time. If I flick the switch on, EGT's can hit 1400+ really fast

I can't comment on the 275's & DD2's but when I first put my Mach 1. 5's in my ETH I got better than 1 mpg increase. I just put them in my ETC but it's to early to calculate milage changes.

I find it interesting that with all the vendors that claim their products "increase fuel mileage", and with so many modded trucks out here in the forums, Im not seeing much difference over totally stock trucks.

When my truck was stock, it got about 18mpg. The mods were basically done one at a time (timing box, inj's, air intake, clutch, fass, and on & on. ) Not one of them showed any significant increase in mileage. Also generally drive it pretty easy as well. Geez, it should be at 25mpg by now if you add y\up all the vendor claims.

All mileage readings have been calculated, and using gps as a reference for odometer.

My advice is keep expectations realistic.

when I put the 275's in mine, my mileage didnt change. but than again I also had the cold idle flash done at about the same time. people have said that they lost a couple miles per gallon after that reflash. my truck woke up good with the 275's.

I have the Mach 1. 6s and actually lost a little(like . 5 or so) MPG.

The power is worth it thouugh. I'm pretty close to breaking even, maybe once I get over playing with the power.

I checked my '01 when it was stock, and it got 21. 3 mpg unloaded on the highway. I put an EZ box on it, and it got the same mileage-21. 3 mpg... Then I put a set of 275 injectors in it and got the same mileage, 21. 3 mpg. . Now I know that getting to the tenth of a gallon is a fluke, but that's the best I've seen cruising down the interstate doing about 5 over the limit unloaded in the above mentioned configurations. The power is WAY up with the injectors and EZ. If I keep my foot into it(with the 275's & EZ) when I'm pulling the TT, the mileage is worse than stock. But, I'm also going a whole lot faster :). All the mileage calculations were done by hand, shaking the truck and filling the tank up until it wouldn't take any more.

Superchips will turn that feature off for you. Also your truck will get quieter. I would like to do bigger injectors but afraid of melting pistions.

I can't hardly get over 1100 pre turbo with DDIIs and boost to 31 towing. Of course most of my towing is in the dead of winter.

I can't wait until I get a better clutch then I'm getting the Smarty setup. As long as I get decent mileage cruising around I don't really care. Life is short, play like it.

i didnt even think about the superchips affecting the cold idle. since it never came on last year. i dont know if i will have it reenabled or not.
