Hi guys, I new at all this and need some advice. I have a 2001 HO,3500,QC,SLT,ETH/DEE, with 3:54 limited slip rear end , 4X4. I have 7500 miles on it, and am currently getting 17. 5 MPG without a load on the road usually running around 60-65 MPH (above 65 MPG starts dropping way down), and about 12-13MPG towing my 35' fifth wheel (about 12500 lbs. ). Truck is stock but I am thinking of adding pillar mounted boost and EGT gages, a complete Jardine 4" exhaust system, a K/N air filter, and a VA box. I don't have unlimited funds, nor do I want to jepordize my warranty. Am I going at this the right way? HELP!

Kevin, Everyone will offer you a different opinion on this as there are a lot of good options. All I can suggest is that you would most likely be happy with the combination you mentioned. Good luck

2000, 2500,QC,4x4,white,tow,leather,6 spd,4. 10, 4" exhaust - turbo back, K&N, Balls of steel hitch, line-x bedliner, Autometer Ultralite pyro and boost... wouldn't dare add anything to void that good ole DC warranty!

<font color=blue> Milage sounds about right considering your truck is under 10,000 miles on it. Its not really broken in until 10 to 15,000 or so.

I believe for what you are looking for that combinations will work great.

The 4" Exhaust will help regardless if you add anything else, the VA Box is easily removed and very stealthy for warranty reasons. K&N Air filter can't hurt much either. EGT and Boost Gauges are always good to have.

My suggestion is try all of the above (guessing about $1500 total) if you install most of it yourself. Then if after you have these upgrades you are still unhappy look into injectors, or a box. I am sure you could easily sale the VA if you didn't use it anymore (won't get all your money back but most of it).

What ever you decide to try just make sure YOU are happy with it. I noticed that is your first post, welcome aboard.

Good luck.

I'd go with the VA, 275hp RV injectors and a boost module/elbow, leave the exhaust alone or change the resonator and muffler for a walker muffler. With this change you should see a 2-mpg increase. this will give 30lbs boost with 1000 EGT's.
