I am in need of new tires and at the same time trying to save some $$$$ since I am going back to school in January.

I currently run Toyos and am considering Hankook M/T's but I just ran across a deal on some BFG A/T's and H2 wheels. I am thinking about picking them up this week and then selling the wheels since I already have a set of H2's on the truck.

What do you all think about the Death wobble?

I don't have it(10K on tires), nor does someone else I know(+/-20K on tires).

I wish though, that I stayed with a 285/75-17 like the Toyo's.

Is your question about should you get the rims and tires or what do I think about death wobble?

I run the BFG AT's 315 70 17 on the H2 and it works great.

No experience with the death wobble.

Kinda 2 questions I guess

Whether or not I get them will kinda depend on the answers I get to death wobble.

It seems that the majority of cases of death wobble I have read about were with people running these tires.

I would prefer to have the Toyos, but for the $$$ I don't think I can go wrong.

I'm not saying it is related, it just seems that it has been the case.

Now I see 3 people say no problems I think maybe I should jump on this deal.

Thanks, Joe

Just to throw it out there spring thru fall i run 315 BFG ATs on H2s and in the winter i run 285 BFG ATs on stock rims. No probs.

I have 36K on a set of 315-70-17 BFG's on H2 rims, NO problems. Right now I have about 40% tread wear. I rotate them every 10K, check pressure weekly.

I use them on 2 trucks - the Dodge and a Ford, have them on my Jeep Wrangler as well. I have never had a problem with BFG's.

From ALL I have read regarding the BFG's and death wobble, those same people who changed out the BFG's to other tires seem to have experienced DW with the other tires as well later on and then they were into fixing suspension components. Probably truth be told, it was the suspension components to begin with. There are plenty of people who experience DW with the stock tires. Dodge has a TSB regarding vibration/wobble, they don't change tires, they change suspension components. The only reference to tires has to do with air pressure not being right, after that it's components. Those who have had their trucks fixed under the TSB have had no problems afterwards.

thanks for the info

I think I may go this route if the guy still has them when I can get over to pick them up

Well I picked up the wheels and tires last night.

What a deal, they are in perfect condition.

With that said, if anyone is looking for a set of H2 wheels, I have 4 for sale.
