I have had my 255/85R16 BFG Mud T/A KMs on for a week and have already got 1000 miles on them.

Ran them three days back and forth to work, then Friday last week hooked the trailer and towed it up to our deer camp. They are stable tires towing and empty on the street!:D

During the deer hunt they hit almost all types of offroad conditions. Up on top there was snow both fresh and ice packed. down by our camp it was powdery dust in placed 4" deep which turn to gumbo the last day after the rain and snow storm. And then there was the rocky hills one which I was advised that no big truck would climb just jeepsters. Eat'M'Up climbed this hill twice the last time during the snow and it was rutted pretty bad.

In all types of roads conditions these tire did Super :D

I had the old style Mud T/As on my last truck in 235/85R16, and these new KMs are better in the snow by a long ways, they are quieter on the street and more stable towing. And they look Meaner too!!!!

All in All I am very please with this new addition to my truck:D  :D

Can you compare the noise level versus other tires you have ran. I have ran two sets of Toyo M55 (http://www.toyo.com/tires/tire_lines/lt_truck/m55.html). They are even more aggressive tread then I need, but they are quiet and have lasted 2X as long as the factory Goodyear AT, and a set of Dunlop ATs in the 255/85R size. I have just under 70K on the second set.

I ask because I am about due and while I love the Toyos, they only come in a 235/85R size. Would not mind a taller tire and yet narrow.

Toyos run me 150 each mounted, lifetime balance and siped.

On my 97 I have had Goodyear ATs (stock) these where quiet. I then went to Goodyears workhorse extra grips in 235/85R16 these tire had alittle noise comparible to these new BFGs. Then I had Big O AT these where the quietest of the bunch but sucked as soon as the ground got soft for traction.

These new BFGs are noisy but not with road noise it's more a oise created by the big outer lugs moving air.

How many miles do you guys expect to get out of these new BFG M/T's?

Its about time to get a new set, since Ive got 55k on the BFG A/T's & sure like the life factor of the A/T's.

Would like to go to the Mudders, but if they only last 30k, there not really practical for 75%city/25%country driving.

The A/T's have been excellent tires, and did well in snow, rain, desert, mild rocky climbs, and are stable for towing. They just arent quite aggressive enough for getting over some of tougher slippery "crawler" hills. Theres been a couple climbs where I needed a more aggressive tire to get over the top. Wouldnt mind the noise since the cummins is already pretty noisey. Just hate to pay the big bucks for tires that only last a year.
