I have the BFG's in that size. Got 25,000 miles on them and about half tread left. Very good ride and quiet. Highly recommended.

I've had both and prefer the BFG's A/T. There real good in the rain, alright in the snow and I've gotten 40-45k out of them. I got better mileage out of the 285/75's then the 235/85's don't know why. The dunlop's I had wore out fast but they re-designed the tread since then.

good luck !

I would have the BFG Mud T/A if they had it in a 315/75R16. I ran 285/75R16 on my '95 had over 50,000 miles on them when I sold the truck. There 3ply sidewall design give the sidewall much needed stability for these heavy trucks. I went with the Goodyear MT/R, because of this 3ply sidewall they offer. I replaced 305/70R16 that were 2ply, what a difference with that extra ply. These tires are not that noisy. Definitely go with BFG A/T in a all terrain tire.

BFG... have 35,000 miles on 'em and have about another 25,000 to go. America's Tire loves to fight Les Schwab for my business. After all said and done bought my 33x12. 5x16. 5 mudders for 124. 00 each. And very happy with then so far.

I would have to vote for the BFG's too. I have 29K on mine and have a little less than half tread depth left. They should go 50K with ease, makes up for the cost. I will go with the 255/85's next time though.

My fater has the Dunlop AT's on his truck and after 30,000 miles they look ok. I definitely think the will become useless (especially in snow) before the 60,000 miles warranty is up. The traction they provide on snow and rain is very good, and they are a very quiet tire. I really like the Dunlop Radial Rover RV but I don't think they make them in the size you are looking for.

Check www.etires.com for tires prices on the Dunlop AT's the 33x12. 5x16. 5's are $110. 99 delivered to your door.

IMO BFG's are a nice tire but they sure do charge you for them. Sure they may last longer, the set I had only made it to 40,000 on a Chevy 1500 gasser, so it's been my experience that they don't last too long. Other's have claimed great tread life. I won't be purchasing another set of BFG's mainly because of cost, not becaause I think they are junk.

Hope this helps,
Ryan

BFG A/T $156 per tire

Dunlop Radial Rover A/T $146 per tire

33"x12. 5"x16. 5"

These are the local prices in NE Ohio, which do you all recommend for the money?

W/ the BFG's you get what you pay for.

The only drawback w/ BFG A/T's is they pick up the rocks & fling 'em all over. Very hard on the paint, but great all around tires, that last and take alot of abuse.

Mine have been over lots of very rocky dirt roads carrying a popup camper, and have held up well to the sharp edges of rocks while carrying weight. They have almost 40k miles and look like they should go another 10 w/ no prob. Would be nice to have a fresh set though.

More BOMBING to come. .

BFG a/t all the way man! Mine have about 38,000 miles on them and are only half worn. Nobody believes they have that much mileage on them when they see them. Burnouts and all, they did great up in the snow this winter.

BFG AT so far I like Im on pace for 60k+

I am just curious. Why not go with the Michelins? I've got the LTX A/S 215/85R/16's on my truck. They are the factory tires and I've got 52. 5K on them now and I believe I will get at least 62K out of them. Those tires are priced competitively with the BFG's and Dunlops. Thanks for any feedback

John

Go with the BFG's. I can't wait to get rid of my Michelin A/S tires. I get stuck on damp grass!! The tire may last a long time but the tread pattern belongs on a car, not a truck. I've owned two sets of the A/T's and would highly recommend them.
