What is going on with BFG tire prices? After reading here about Sams selling 315's for $115 each I called them. Sure enough I was quoted $115 . That was 10 days ago... Went there today to order and was quoted $212. I have heard the same thing on the board about other dealers. Prices are all over the place. Whats going on and who has the bet price of late? Even my Goodyear dealer that I do business with quoted me $135 back when I ordered the truck, now he wants $225. Said he must have mis quoted the first time.

Boils down to steel. The price of steel is driving everything up. I've heard that radials could see an increase that will double the price.

So that means when the price of steel goes down, the price of tires will go down? Next they'll blame it on oil.

But in reality, the prices have been low for years. I paid $130 per tire for 12. 50-15-35 tires for my Bronco back in 1985.

Tell me about it. I was shopping for BFG's in a 285 for my H2 rims and Discount Tire (usually the cheapeast in my general area here in TX) was like $198 a piece. I only bought two there at the time which was a few months ago. Decided to wait for the backorder to clear from Tirerack.com and ordered three more from there for $145 each! Go figure. Tire prices jump around as much as diesel does here in central TX.

If you order your tires for SAM's CLUB on line you are not required to provde a deposit and they are shipped to the installation location of your choice. I have also found that the pricing on line can be better than at the store. Maybe they originaly quoted the wrong load rating?
