I took the outerwears off of my bhaf a few weeks ago because is was getting really dirty and had a lot of holes in it. Well I left it at home when I came back to school after spring break and today I am going to have to make a 2 hour drive home in the rain and I am wondering just how much water can actually splash up on the bhaf while driving at highway speeds? Do any of you use a bhaf without any sort of prefilter?

My BHAF is probably 5 years old and has never had a pre-filter cover. Of course, the truck only has 32K miles, but it's been on the highway during rainstorms during that time. The BHAF element looks fine. If you look where it tucks into the fenderwell, it's pretty well shielded.
