I know it all depends on driving conditions, but I pretty much drive on paved roads all the time. I installed the Donaldson BHAF and have an outerwears cover on it. I didn't reuse the filter minder. What kind of mileage can I expect out of this thing. I was going to replace the stock one every 15000 miles. The BHAF costs a little more than double the stocker, so I hope to get at least twice the life out of it.

Any thoughts... .

Thanks

Even With an outerwares I hear of people changeing the BHAF at every 50,000

I looked at mine under the outerwares and it still looks like new with 20,000 on it

I'm a farmer/rancher and the majority of my driving is on dirty, dusty roads(It "is" Kansas, after all). Just had this truck for two weeks, so dont know what filter is on it, but I imagine it is some type of stock filter. What would you guys recommend for my driving conditions?

thanks,

I would probably say to stick with a paper filter of some sort. The oiled filters flow great amounts of air, but maybe not as clean. Since Greg does alot of playing in the desert, he could probably answer your question the best.

I used a BHAF in my 2000 with the same diving conditions as you. It sure lasted a lot longer than the stocker. I would suggest to stay with a paper filter.

I have 5 miles of dirt road leading to my house and yearly rainfall less than 4" so plenty of dry dust ;)

Mine wasn't very dirty when I changed it, after about 60,000 miles the screen had become dammaged from the slight bouncing and I didn't want to risk the paper being damaged.

I have installed them in several 04. 5's and the earlier ones should be the same. A little mod of the air tubing is required.

Gee, I dunno. The NAPA 2790 BHAF I installed in October 2001 is still running, but it only has about 22K miles on it!
