My truck came to me with a K&N complete system and tonight I replaced the filter with a fleetgaurd BHAF w/outerwear cover. I went for a quick test spin and noticed right away that my EGT's are lower. I also noticed my boost was lower than usual, along with my turbo being much much quieter :(. Just curious if this is the norm. All seems good, just looking for others results, thanks.

Well, I have a non sheilded BHAF and it's certainly louder than stock. I've had one so long, I don't recall if the boost changed at all. W/ my set-up, it's alway maxed at 34-35 psi.

Cheers

try pulling your IAT sensor and the map sensor and check them,

clean and or replace them, there may be dirt and oil on them from the K&N filter

I recently went from the KN to the BHAF as well. Turbo wine is quieter, slightly cooler temps, not enough to justify switching, but at least I feel I'm getting better filtration. ;)

I never had a K&N but I've driven a truck identical to mine with one, at least on mine (silencer ring MIA) turbo is much louder with the BHAF compared to the K&N, as for boost and EGTs, I'll have to get back to you, gauges are going in Monday since I don't have to work.
