I have a '96 CC with a number of engine modifications. I just replaced the K&N drop in with a BHAF. Do I need a mount and/or a heat shield for this? If so, where can I get one? Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi Jim,

Larry B makes a nice turbo shield which helps direct heat away from the air filter. As for mounts I think most guys just let it lay there with the end of it touching so it won't ride on the media. Not sure though, I've never had one.

Link to Larry B's (scroll to bottom of page for heat shields):

I'm running Larry B's heat shield on my hx45 with the BHAF "sitting" on the fender. No problems for a year. BHAf has an outherwears waterproof cover on the outside (highly recommended).

Remember to put a rubber or plastic hose over the air conditioner line or it will rub through the line, put rubber gromets over the bolts studs also to reduce wear on the filter screen.
