Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) BHAF mounting options?

Got the BHAF for my 01, and I'm looking at mounting options. I searched and didn't see a whole lot. I know a number of folks are just laying it on the fender, or making some sort of cradle from the airbox studs.



Is anyone using an AFE or other mount/guard set-up for this? I'm thinking about some sort of set-up to draw cooler air.

Any pics or links of options here?



Also, does outerwear or someone else make an outer filter/sleeve for the BHAF? This thing is HUGE...

Just lay it on the fender. Pull the plastic nuts from the airbox and use them on the airbox studs to keep from poking holes in the filter. Some have used a short piece of 4" steel or PVC pipe in the neck of the filter to keep from crushing it when tightening the worm clamp. I didn't have this problem but I pulled my intake hose off the turbo to make sure I got a good fit on the filter first.



I think some people are using heat shields but your options are limited due to the size of this thing.



Not sure but i haven't seen any prefilters for this thing. It stays suprisingly clean by its self.

There were a couple guys that used to make mounts for the bhaf. Cant rememebr who they were I even had one for a while. A search might turn them up. As far as a cover call outwears they do make them. You may have to give them the dimensions of the filter if bhaf doesn't strike a bell with the saleperson but they have made them in the past for sure.

Call Outerwears, tell them your part filter number, like Fleetguard AH-19037. They send you a WR3325-105BK (10. 5 x 10. 5 in, black). Or choose your favorite color. They might even have hot pink, I didn't ask.



For a heat shield, you might look up TDR member Rob Thomas.
