My cousin has a 93 and liked the looks of my BHAF. I just wanted to ask if there is enough clearnace to fit one?

Any help is appreciated.

Kyle

Clearance isn't a problem. It's mounting. You'll have to come up with something as they are too heavy to mount like the aFe, which in a way, isn't mounted at all.

The BHAF I have seen are either flopping around ontop of the inner fender well or mounted with smokey's mount which he stopped making.

The rubber intake tube will only keep it from moving left /right. There isn't anything to keep it from moving rarward/forward. Not to mention the up/down bouncing from the suspension and then the engine vibration... ... ... ... ... ... ...

It can't be good. You need to speak with someone who actually has a filter like this. I didn't want to chance tearing/wearing a hole in the underside of the filter element, so I use the aFe with a custom intake (exhaust pipe tube).

I made one similar to the Old Smoky mount. There's a picture of it in my reader's rigs gallery. If you are interested in doing something like this, there's a link in a thread somewhere that even has a drawing with dimensions...

The exhaust pipe tube is "supported" near the filter element end by a steel/rubber exhaust pipe "hanger", mounted upside down to the inner fender well. The hanger is secured to the underside of the tube with a (5 inch) worm gear clamp.
