How do I install a BHAF on my 05? The rubber hose that connects to the air box is too small for the BHAF. Of course the other end must be 5 inches that connects to the baffle tube.

The only guy I know who has done it successfully is the other Finn on here - Nick up in Canada.

Alan, Give me a call,

I have a great tube that we make here for a clean install. Just waiting on the Outerwares to come in and then they will be for sale.

just get a short secton of 4" exhaust or intake tubing [double the depth of what the bhaf inlet neck is where the lip inside the filter is... ? about 3"] stick that in the bhaf filter, then stick your stock elbow over that... add a clamp over the bhaf neck that should get you up and running with that setup. .

Thanks, Guys. I'll give you a call Greg. Nick, I'll see if I can figure out the exhaust piece, too. Both options sound good.

Greg, few of questions:

Does your setup allow for the mounting of the sensor that's on the stock intake? If so, that's a real plus.

Will your Outerwares covers fit on the Fleetguard AH19004 (same size as AH19037)? I want to stick with Fleetguard for warranty purposes.

Can we purchase your intake tube and Outerwares cover alone, minus a fliter

(unless you sell on of the two mentioned above)?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

We have designed this system to accept the stock mounting of the IAT sensor. We have a complete system with: Intake tube, Filter, Outerwears, and mounting hardware. It flows enough air to keep my truck cool with the Powerpup on Performance and an EZ on level 6. With the DD Jammer pinned at 42 PSI, I see 1250* in top gear, 3200 rpm's.

At DRC we will be sourcing a good price on the Fleetguard filter. It is the only filter that DC says is ok. But we know how that goes. One dealer will love it, the other will hate it. I might sell it less filter. Let me stew on that one.

Greg,

I was about to order all the parts to do this myself. When would yours be available and can you tell us all the parts that are included? Does it use 2 90 deg. rubber elbows, a straight section, and one 90 deg. steel elbow? Does it have fittings for the stock IAT and filterminder? Will it be aluminum or steel? Will it have a bracket / heatshield to hold the BHAF in place securely? Any idea on price?

Greg, thanks. I was thinking of using the AH19004 (the marine version) because it actually flows more air than the AH19037, but it may not be necessary based on you're setup and your temps. I'll just be running an Edge/Attitude and, when they're ready, some EDM injectors.

By the way, does the Outerwares cover cause much/any air flow loss?

Let us know when you're ready to ship.

Thanks,

Jim

Greg,

Put me on your list too. I had just purchased a new BHAF so I really wouldn't need another filter now but if you decide not to sell your system without a filter that would be ok to.

Thanks,

George

Keep me in the loop too Greg, I am interested in one. Will it retain a mount for a filter minder?

I am not 100% on this but thought I remember something about the minders have to match the filter in use so its not a good idea to use the OE minder.

Jim- careful the marine version filters well enough, not much dust out on the water.

i look forward to seeing pictures of your piping... i may be interested in it just so i can get the iat sensor mounted properly... [mine now is in the piping, but in one of my rubber elbows and held in place with some zip ties ]

If they're priced reasonably, I'll sign up for a red one without the AFE.

I couldn't care less about the filter minder. 40,000 miles on the truck, running my 3rd stock filter, and the minder has never moved.
