I have been following the posts on the subject of the BHAF and the suggestions for using the Fleet Guard units instead since they have a mesh inside to further protect the turbo and intake.
I did some searching and found that the fleet guard units are priced in the $80 market! Considering I only paid $33 for my Napa 2790 and since it is time for a filter change, I bought a Napa unit instead. Since I was throwing the old one out I decided to simply cut the wire mesh off and resize it to fit on the inside as well. Granted I haven't seen the mesh size on the fleet guard units but I feel the 2790's mesh should be sufficed.
Any interested parties feel free to visit my website at http://www.geocities.com/robertballard_22655/Rampage.html
You'll find sound files of my old dynomax cat back where I eliminated the resonator. The dynomax system included a Walker muffler. The second sound file is 4" straight pipe, which is the current set up. I also have transgo shift kit instructions on the 98 dodge ram link.
