Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) BHAF stiffener

Is pvc pipe strong enough to use as a stiffener between the BHAF and the hose? It seems that schedule 40 pipe should be okay. Just wondering about the heat and vibrations though. I'm having a hard time finding 4" exhaust pipe right now. Looking for options.

I used a black piece of PVC at first then I went to a 2" long piece of 4" aluminized exhaust pipe in the neck of the filter. Works great.

The NAPA 2790 didnt require any pipe (stiffener) neck was plenty big enough for the Turbo inlet hose to tighten down firmy... ... ... ... ... what filter are you guys useing?? if you need a (stiffener) PVC would be stronger than the Factory boot its self.

I've always used the NAPA filter. I've found that to get a decent seal I need a hard support inside the filter neck otherwide it collapses. Maybe I just get a little too overzealous with the nutdriver :-laf
