pjames,

It means Big Honkin' Air Filter. More of a heavy truck style of filter assembly. Available from a number of sources.

Thanks for the reply wtrenholm. Can you or any other TDR member provide me with a web site or a brand of stores that sell a BHAF?:D

Try your local NAPA Truck Store. I will be ordering another this week, $32 each. I modify my 2790 (overkill) to include the mesh on the inside as well. You can view this on my website

Hello RBallard-That's a real nice web site you have there, along with the Dodge! When you installed your BHAF,does it come with a mounting bracket or do you have to make one yourself

It just sits there, no mounting. The only I made for was the tube (4" exhaust) connecting the filter and snorkel. I used to just connect the snorkel to the filter but the pipe made it a little easier.

Thanks for the compliments,

Bob

Changing BHAF

How often do you guys change your BHAF. I like the NAPA air filter on that web site. Brought my truck to the stealer my fuel gauge shorted out and I didn't know it, I thought it was the lift pump. The called to tell me that the lift pump was fine, but my K&N filter was letting dirt and grime into the turbo and intercooler. I was unable to get to the shop so, he kindly cleaned the turbo and intercooler and charged me 300 bucks and another 160 bucks for diagnostics Oh he also changed the fuel filter and air filter for another 200 bucks, anyway they scared the sh** Out of me so I'm going to look real close at the BHAF (and stay away from the stealer) :--)

If you are referring to my website , the one which is cut away has 10,000 miles on it. I replaced the first one at 10k and second the same. The third will be on at 14k miles. It's overkill I know but I don't mind spending the $32.
