Today I went to see my buddy Fred @ Desert Diesel Parts. Drove there from Cali for the day. 250 miles one way isnt bad on the way there but the way home is tough... . He installed my new 4"remote mount PacBrake and 5" exhaust. What a cool mod. I should have got one of these years ago. Install took him 2. 5 hours for the brake, exhaust, and 2" level spacers. I got to play around on a Bobcat while he did the install. Once again Fred makes it worth the trouble of going to Pheonix. Super clean install on all parts. Every thing works flawlessly, And I am home from Pheonix 14 hours after I left my house. Mileage still sux with the 4. 10 rear end. Got 12. 8 on the way there and 13. 8 on the way home. I was going 85 most of the way. Now I need a bomb for the Cruise control limit of 85. Say maybe 95??????

Thanks Fred!!!!! Great job..... Greg

Greg, Which muffler did you go with? How does it sound? Are there any advantages to the Pac brake vs. the Jacobs? What do you mean by remote? Which electronic box are you running now? ... ... . sorry for all the questions, just trying to weigh out my options!

The exhaust is a Big Exhaust 5" with a couple of pieces from Rip. I think? It was off of a friends truck but it was Cheap!!!

The advantage of the Pacbrake is that it is $400 cheaper than the jacobs. They both do the same thing. The remote mount is an inline brake not turbo mount. I went that route so I have the option to upgrade to any turbo later and not loose the brake. The Jacobs mounts direct replacement of the stock exhaust elbow, which is great but, goes with the turbo on an upgrade. Another reason I went with the Pac is Fred Swanson has been super fair to me all along. He has my business on anything I get.

You cant compare customer support from anyone else. I might have saved $50 going to someone else but he is a good guy. As for the Box; Edge EZ is on the truck now. I am waiting, very patiently, for my Bullydog Prototype Box to show up via the brown truck. Maybe tomorrow I will get it, install it, and write a new post on it.

Hope this helps a little. Sorry it was so long... . Greg
