GUIDELINES FOR USE OF CARBON DIOXIDE FOR RODENT EUTHANASIA

Some kids driving there Big Chebby got er stuck in about 6 inches of mud. They had quite an audience since it happened on the edge of the Walmart parking lot. I always understood it to use the 4X4 when in loose conditions. Eveidently they thought going through with the 2 rear only would get the job done. Since I drove my 72 chev to Walmart I just thought I'll not even bother to help. But if I would have had the Dodge I probably would have offered to help. Just to humiliate him since his truck was taller and had bigger tires. Finally some one with a z71 rescued him and the show was over. #ad

I had a friend of mine with a 95 z71 lifted 6 and running 35s. That thing sucked offroad. Sucked real bad, I told him if it sucked any worse we would have to remove the "Offroad" part of his Z71 sticker. I had a 91 Toyota with a body lift and 33's with a rear locker. I think I polished his frame with as often my tow strap was hooked up lol. Do the dodges have to move before the 4wd will come in?? I know lots of chivvy guys that tried to mud in 2wd got stuck, but stayed stuck because they had to move to engage 4wd. I was an a hole with my toyota lol. Always doing something that would get a chibby ford or jeep stuck. Had to sell it to get my ram though #ad

Yup, gotta be moving to engage front axle. The vacuum cylinder slides the axle spline connector onto the axle which is not turning , so it must be turning to engage.
Best to plan ahead!

The 4wheel will engage while not moving (found this out 1st hand, by the way) because in a dodge it's a 2 part process. . when you put the "lever" in 4 wheel drive the front driveshaft is powered and begins turning part of the front axle and the locking collar is released so that it will engage the two axle halves (one of which is now turning)... when the splines line up the axle locks together and you have 4 wheel drive. .

ps, by engaging while not moving i mean that the truck doesn't have to be in motion... you do have to have it in gear and have the driveshafts turning
