I have an '04 3500 4x4 swb with power locks and the overhead cluster. Recently, the locks stopped working. I checked the fuses in the power dist. box, found not a bad one. Shortly thereafter, the overhead console started blowing it's fuse. I'd put one in, and it would blow in about an hour. NOW the parking lights come on when I hit the brakes! Wierd! I guess the next little mystery would be the power seat moving on it's own!

Any thoughts?

Uh-oh, not good. But the good news is all those items are handled by the front control module, which is located beneath (and attached to) the fuse block.

2003 Service Manual said:
The Front Control Module (FCM) is a micro controller
based module located in the left front corner
of the engine compartment. On this model the integrated
power module must be positioned aside in
order to access the front control module. The front
control module mates to the power distribution center
to form the Integrated Power Module (IPM). The
integrated power module connects directly to the battery
and provides the primary means of circuit protection
and power distribution for all vehicle
electrical systems. The front control module controls
power to some of these vehicle systems electrical and
electromechanical loads based on inputs received
from hard wired switch inputs and data received on
the PCI bus circuit (J1850).

My guess is, it's bit the dust.
