Mission Raceway (BC) is hosting its annual Big Rig races this coming weekend, Aug. 21-22. This event is really cool, with lots of gorgeous big trucks and a friendly, relaxed race atmosphere. Oo.
The schedule on Saturday is up in the air due to a Junior Dragster race, and not knowing how many diesels will show up, but we are guaranteed to get in some time trials. Sunday will be the all-truck day, which will include a bracket style “King of the Hill” for diesel pickups with trophies, and plaques for the top 2 quickest pickups. Time trials on Sunday will probably start around 10 am.
I encourage everyone who can attend this event to do so! Mission is a fast, friendly track, and for this event DIESEL PICKUPS RACE FREE!!
This is a perfect opportunity for newcomers to get a feel for racing and what their trucks will do, and for all of us to get some practice in for the Randy’s/ PDR event taking place at Pacific Raceways in September. Remember, you do not need a modified truck to enjoy racing; in a bracket race, it's anyone's game! I will personally help anyone who would like with staging, reaction time, and racing techniques. I’m sure if Pat is there he’ll do the same, right Pat?
We took home the 2 plaques last year...
Don’t be afraid to cross the border; it’s not far to the track and the Canadians seem to like us well enough…
