Camper with ex.cab short bed ?

Goodyear Silent Recall?

I've been looking at campers for a long time and have decided I want a 10'6", 2500 series, Bigfoot. I looked at a used 2000 today that I'd love to have, but OH MY GOSH is it spendy. It's in new condition with about every option available including generator, A/C, solar, microwave, 2 awnings, 3 batteries, thermal pane windows, skylites, remote electric dually jacks, and the other usual options, did I mention GOSH IT'S SPENDY? Anyway, the NADA book says it's worth about 20 grand and that is what the owner wants for it and he's not willing to barter much, if any. I can't believe I'm even considering it, but man, it is a beautiful unit.

Any Bigfoot owners out there that can add any opinions about your own Bigfoot experiences?

It sounds like your mind is already made up! :D I bet this was your same gut feeling when you went with the Cummins? Get what appeals to you and don't be upset that you didn't find it on the bargain table. I don't think that you will ever be dissappointed with the quality of the Bigfoot.

The only thing that I would suggest, is to get some nice frame mounted camper tie-downs and take it for a test drive. The Bigfoot's only drawback is that it is very heavy. Good luck,

David

P. S. I just noticed your location. I might be able to hook you up with another Bigfoot owner also located in Hayden Lake. He's the one that convinced me.

David, what does you 3000 weight ? I have the B2500 and says 2400# wet . Thats quite a bit less then some of the stick and staple rigs. My F250 carrys it with no sway or problems, plan to upgrade to a 3500 in a couple years but have had this setup since 1998. Your right, can't go wrong with a Bigfoot

Jim

I think that my Bigfoot is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3500-lbs completely empty. The double-pane glass adds a couple hundred pounds by itself. However, when I go out on the road, I've been known to throw a few items of clothing in the closet and a few beers in the fridg' which adds to the weight considerably. The 3500 handles it beautifully.

Northrunner, I do not believe that you can go wrong with the 2500 series 10. 6 Bigfoot. I have just bought ( In the last two months) This same camper. I could not be happier with mine. I have not found the weight to be as heavy as stated here. My 10. 6 2500 weighs on the scales 2456 empty. My 3500 truck doesn't even know that it is back there. Another really good thing about these Bigfoot's is the basement. I shoot in competition and my gun case is right at 60" long the basement makes for a neat place to store it and all of that other stuff that is usually in the way. Dont worry about the money, hell its only money. And after Sept. 11 I'm going to spend the damn stuff while I can. Good Luck Gunny
